For those who wish to draw more

New theme: Gifts January 15, 2007

Filed under: .India — India @ 5:55 pm

Okay, so much for housewares. I hereby decree that the drawing topic for the next month is Gifts.

It doesn’t have to be a recent gift. It doesn’t have to be a gift that you actually liked. It could be a gift that you gave to yourself. It doesn’t have to be a literal, drawable object—if you like to draw concepts, and somebody gave you something intangible, like, say, oh, I don’t know, love, feel free to draw that. Go wild with it.

I don’t care what you draw, in fact. Draw a potato. Just draw, please!

Thanks for the new theme. I just wasn’t inspired by baking sheets.

Hmm, now that you mention it, I did receive a pair of baking sheets as a gift . . . I could probably continue to subject you to kitchen implements for every theme we come up with.

  3. I like this new theme. Gifts are kind of the bane of my existence. So much pressure. Wrapping, in particular, is hard for me. But so, I have a bunch of would-be gifts on hand that I acquired and then have never been able to give, and they would be delightful in this situation. Thanks goodness they’re good for something.

Ooh, I do that, too. I’m always seeing things—usually housewares; sorry, Dani!—that would make “the perfect gift for . . .” [my invisible friend over there]. Or I get things for specific people and then decide they’re not quite the right thing and hang onto them. Some get absorbed into my own household, but most just linger there in Gift Limbo.

    Great theme!
And I will try not to draw any kitchen-gifts …
