DrawMo!

For those who wish to draw more

Sorry, didn’t mean to go out with a pffft! there. December 3, 2006

I’m on London time. In the last few days before leaving for vacation, I did do some drawings, but I didn’t have time to photograph or post them. And then I spent half a day travelling, and most of the first day in London shopping (Elisabeth! Monsoon! It’s overwhelming!), and then . . . Well, finally, here’s the backlog:

Packing

Packing

I’m not generally an organized person, but I’ve gotten pretty good at packing for trips. I drew this on Wednesday, after I had laid out the clothes I intended to bring to Europe. I used a new set of twelve Stabilo point 88 mini Fineliners. There’s not a wide color range in the twelve-pack, but they’re cute little pens. Very small. Easy to pack.

I know it’s so over to be drawing pumpkins now, after Thanksgiving, but there are these two tiny squashes that have been sitting on top of the coffeemaker at work for a couple of weeks, and I decided the white one was kind of interesting. It’s not half as yellow as I’ve drawn it.

Staple remover

Staple Remover

I drew this for the Invention topic at Illustration Friday, but then I was too late in posting it. I think the staple remover is an elegant little invention.

Some people like to spread the newspaper all over the carpet and crouch on the floor to read it.

Some other people prefer to sit on the couch with their legs crossed, reading the Internets on a laptop PC.

. . .

That is all. I mean, I brought my drawing kit to Europe, and I will keep drawing as often as I can, but DrawMo! is, sadly, over, so I guess I won’t post them here again until next year. It’s been fun!

Does anybody else have an opinion on what should happen on this blog between now and next November? I mean, should we keep posting links and exercises and stuff? Or are you just over it?

. . .

Aaaaaaaah!! I’m in London!!!!

Ah … lucky you. What I wouldn’t give to be shopping at Monsoon now, instead of sitting here at work trying to get my day started. (Need coffee).

I’m still quite a few drawings short, and I hope to post in a day or two. If no one minds – of course … :-)

I think we should continue posting here during the next year. When ever we feel like it. Or maybe we could have a monthly theme or something?

Aaaaaaaah! You drew me! Really quickly! I thought you’d given up ’cause I kept moving! I am AMAZED.

E: Okay, twist my arm! I like the idea of a monthly theme. Or even weekly. I think I could manage a drawing a week. It’s just the daily thing that kills me.

S: I told you I was done! I told you you could move! Anyway, even if I wasn’t done, I like drawings like this.

  4. Elisabeth Says:

How about a monthly theme, where we can post as many times as we like?
    Daily, weekly or just once.

  5. Dani Says:

Love the idea of a monthly theme. Drawings at will. Right now I’m working on a Christmas card so I’m all about the holiday theme myself. I’ll be over that pretty quick!

I think a monthly theme would be great. I did a monthly theme this year with my quilt art adventure and will be continuing throughout 2007.

  7. I like the idea of a monthly or weekly drawing, with theme. Constraints are good and creativity-making. Think inside the box.

Also, India, for linking to my drawing and for having excellent taste in shoes and clothes and for coming up with Drawmonauts and for being just generally excellent, you are hereby named my favoritest person.

Aww. I like you, too, Cindy. I mean, the drawing’s been fun and all, but making new Internet friends has been the best thing about this project, I think.
