I’m looking down the list of categories for the one that reads ‘frustrated’ but alas. This quick sketch was more an exercise of my patience than anything else. I tried to use a viewfinder with “format” lines. (Do we have a Sketch & Bitch category?) What a comedy. Clearly I need a lesson on how to use a viewfinder, I guess I should’ve read the book! Day 4 is done.

I was wondering how one is supposed to draw while holding the square . . .

I do like the way working with a viewing square forces a lot of white space. Probably because I am mentally ill, I feel uncomfortable leaving white space on the page when I draw. I like looking at it on other people’s drawings, though—this and Julia’s firewood both have a calming formality to them, or something, because of the square mask. Self-framing art!

I should definitely do this next as it might cause me to resist the urge to frantically scribble in a Mysterious Dark Mist for contrast.
