You’re all so encouraging! Very helpful for a neophyte like me.
I drew this with a charcoal — I think it was the medium one from a set of pencils, charcoals, and colored pencils I bought a couple of years back when I first wanted to try drawing. The notebook I’m using is one I got at Staples. It’s spiral bound, which is unusual for me. I detest those spiral notebooks, because the bindings always seem to bend and warp so that it becomes hard to open the notebook. But Staples didn’t have much selection, and I knew I wouldn’t have time to get to an art supply place. And the paper is nicely white for making pictures.
