This is me, wearing my pirate hat. It doesn’t look much like me, except for the hat. But hey, I’m drawing!
You probably want to know who I am. I’m a friend of India’s from way back — college days. Come to think of it, that’s about when I stopped drawing, too. Before I went to college I knew I was going to be an artist, but then things worked out differently. I still draw, but only very occasionally, so I’m hoping I can get the creative juices restarted this month.
One of the huge benefits of drawing frequently is that you look at things much more carefully. I remember this from when I was drawing all the time, back in high school. Drawing makes you a better observer, even when you don’t have a pencil in hand. I used to be a careful observer but over the years I’ve become lazy and lax, I’m afraid. I’m looking forward to changing that.
In my day job I’m a technology journalist and word wrangler. I also publish a daily haiku journal, tinywords. I live in California. And I’m looking forward to playing with you all!
